LIVING WITH ACDs

You can lice without an ACD - but it does not make sense

I have written this page for all those who want to know more about the breed and for all delighted owners of one or more Australian Cattle Dogs and last but not least for the breeders, who try to improve the breed with all their engagement.
When long time ago wolves slowly developed to friends under human care, there was no other beast who offered himself more willingly to adopt changings. They wanted to serve and fullfil different duties.
It took only about 100 years of all kind of attempts
in breeding, until the first standard showed into the direction what was required.
During this time there were many different dog breeds crossed with Dingos, Blue Merle Collies, Dalmatians, Bullterriers in some areas and sometimes breeds which no longer
exist. It was a huge melting pot, where the founders of the breed never forgot the aim: A silent, alert, effortless, sound, concentrated herding dog.

ACD PLUS ACD = LIFE QUALITY

Till nowadays the Australian Cattle Dog could keep these attitudes, though he does not drove cattle anymore over the wide grassland of New South Wales to the market in Sydney. Since many years machines are doing this job. But it is his advantage that he nevertheless fullfills his tasks with the same devotion to his owner nowadays. He is not only a quick and agile sport athlete, herding the living lawn mowers in the garden, reliably looking after the kids of his master and he does love his pack of several ACDs. This is by the way the consequence out of keeping first only one Australian Cattle Dog...
ONE THING IS FOR SURE - YOU NEVER FEEL OLD WITH A CATTLE DOG.
